Johnny Appleseed & Teen Savings*

It's never too early to begin saving. Make it a family affair. It's a wise investment to teach your children or grandchildren the value of money and the importance of saving for their future.

Start them out with a Johnny Appleseed savings account. It's for children under age 13. The Teen Savings account is for teens age 13 to 18. Here is what you receive:

  • No opening minimum deposit

  • Interest is earned daily and posted quarterly

  • Unlimited deposits and withdrawals

  • Passbook recordkeeping

  • Johnny Appleseed account holders can win chances to receive gifts throughout the year to help encourage children to save

Insured Money Market Account (IMMA) *

Do you want more convenience than a regular savings account and greater flexibility than a certificate of deposit or Christmas Club? Then you want the Insured Money Market Account.

It's really a savings account with check writing privileges. And because it has a market rate of interest, you earn more when rates rise. That's another bonus.

Just look what an IMMA can offer you:

  • Earn higher rates of interest as your account balance grows; Tiers are $ 0 - $ 9,999; $ 10,000 - $ 24,999; $ 25,000 or greater

  • Unlimited withdrawals when made in person or by mail

  • Unlimited deposits

  • Six pre-authorized, telephone, or Internet Banking transfers per statement period; includes a maximum of three checks, Pulse, or Check Card withdrawals

  • No monthly fee with $ 1,000 daily or $ 4,000 average monthly balance

Certificate of Deposit *

When you've put aside enough money to cover all short-term expenses, there's just one more thing to do. Take what's "extra" and open a Certificate of Deposit (CD) at Wood County National Bank.

A CD does more for you and your money. It carries a higher rate of interest than a savings account, and you can plan your CDs to mature at or near the time you need the money. This makes them ideal as you're approaching a wedding, vacation, household purchase, etc. You name it.

Short-term, long-term, minimum deposit or more, you decide. It's your money.

Talk to one of our personal bankers about Certificates of Deposit. We'll help you find the plan that gives you the flexibility and savings you want.

  • Invest in any term available from 30 days to 4 years, or any date in between

  • Interest rates guaranteed through term of investment

  • $ 500 minimum for most investments one year or longer

  • Flexible interest payment plan

  • FDIC insured for your peace of mind

  • Substantial penalty for early withdrawal

Christmas Club *

Christmas Clubs aren't just for Christmas anymore. Start an account to save for many other reasons, too, including . . . vacations, major purchases, car down payments, etc. You name it; you can save for it, and earn interest.

It's simple. Deposit a fixed amount each week or month. You decide. Then sit back and watch the fund grow until you receive your Christmas Club check in late October. Then, happy spending!
