Helping Local Business

How WCNB helps deBoer "Keep on truckin'."

Ron DeBoer launched his cattle hauling business in 1967 with a commitment to providing reliable service and on-time delivery to Wisconsin destinations.

Today, the family owned business employs more than 550 staff members in 40 states, has a fleet of 550 tractors and 1,200 trailers, and services customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

As deBoer Transportation, Inc. expanded, the business service team at Wood County National Bank provided ways for the company to keep on truckin’ while getting the most mileage for its money. We provided the financing for deBoer’s headquarters building and help the company improve their cash flow and workplace efficiency with our Lockbox Services.

deBoer uses our Internet-based Positive Pay and Account Reconciliation systems as well as our Cash Management Services – all designed to help a company monitor and manage their money more efficiently.

Our ACH Origination System is used for accounts payable and to ensure that company employees across the country have access to their payroll. When they travel, company officials carry a Corporate Credit Card from Wood County National Bank.

Just as deBoer believes in going the extra mile for its customers, the business banking team at Wood County National Bank works with our customers to always deliver solutions, not excuses to our customers.

When a "change" had to be made, WCNB was there to lend a helping hand.

Forty plus years ago, with the help of his father ("Shorty" Schierl), John "Butch" Schierl founded Team Schierl Companies. The Schierl Tire and Service Division originally started in Stevens Point and expanded to Wisconsin Rapids in 1969.

Throughout a series of expansions starting with a facility on Main Street, Stevens Point, the people of the central Wisconsin area have enjoyed quality service for their vehicles and the availability of Goodyear tires. Today, Plover's new Schierl Tire and Service Center is relocated to 714 Post Road, Plover. The operation has now expanded in size from a 4-bay facility to 10 bays. Their philosophy has remained the same. The mission is "the never-ending pursuit of guest satisfaction through exceeding convenience expectations."

Schierl Tire and Service Center expanded to the Wisconsin Rapids area starting with a rented facility on West Grand Avenue, then sharing a facility with "The Store" on 8th Street South in 1986. In 1999, the new Schierl Tire and Service Center relocated to 4540 8th Street South.

Team Schierl Companies are still Schierl family-owned. Butch Schierl's sons, Tim, Fritz, and Bill, currently operate and manage all properties.

Team Schierl Companies' growth throughout the last 40 plus years now encompasses 5 Goodyear Tire and Service centers, 20 convenience stores, 5 Subway restaurants, 6 TCBY treat shops, Cousin Subs, and Schierl Oil. All are located throughout the state and into the UP of Michigan. In Stevens Point and Plover, Schierl Tire and Service Centers are estimated to having serviced thousands of vehicles and sold over 250,000 tires.

That's a lot of tires to change! And Wood County National Bank was there to help in their building ventures. We understand business and are committed to helping our customers succeed. When you want local, personalized banking to help your business grow, call Wood County National Bank. We're here with Solutions, Not Excuses.

When Kickapoo Valley Cheese wanted a "Wheel of a Deal," they contacted Wood County National Bank.

Cheese consumption keeps increasing and part of the reason is convenience-food packaging. Kickapoo Valley Cheese Corporation takes the work out of slicing cheese for the consumer.

According to Jim Leytus, owner of Kickapoo Valley Cheese, “People want convenience. They want to be able to open a package and take a slice now versus spending time slicing.”

Jim’s marketing theories were proven correct when Kickapoo Valley Cheese was chosen for the last two years as one of the “100 Best Suppliers” for Sysco, an $18 billion food-distribution company.

The facility started in the heart of downtown Sherry, WI in 1906. The plant underwent many renovations before it became the impressive packaging operation it is today, employing over 100. Keeping in step with modern technology, customer specifications, and cost-efficiency brought Kickapoo Valley Cheese to Wood County National Bank when they needed to add more equipment. About $1 million of European and American-engineered slicing and packaging equipment was added to the plant. This sophisticated addition enables Kickapoo Cheese to offer zippered, resealable packaging and exact weight packaging. It allows the customer to choose the exact weight and size of the package needed for their restaurant or grocery store. Wood County National Bank also provides cash management services including a deposit lockbox which maximizes cash flow by putting Kickapoo’s receivables immediately into the company’s account.

Just as Kickapoo Valley Cheese Corporation knows how to slice through 11 million pounds of cheese per year, Wood County National Bank knows how to slice through red tape to provide its customers with the financial services to help your business grow and succeed.

No matter how you slice it — Wood County National Bank provides Solutions, Not Excuses.

Wood County National Bank Helped "frame" the Financial Future for Pittsville Homes

When Cornelius "Corny" Hoogesteger purchased Pittsville Homes in 1978, the company was in its infancy as one of the first modular homebuilders in Wisconsin.

Using the same skill and knowledge he used to construct conventional "stick-built" homes, Corny decided that all Pittsville Homes would be made using quality, brand name materials, and attention to detail.

Today, Jim and Bob Hoogesteger carry on that tradition and commitment to quality. Each Pittsville Home has constant supervised inspections and must pass a final inspection by a State Certified Building Inspector.

Hundreds of floor plans are available through authorized Pittsville Homes dealers and each can be customized to fit the individual needs and budget for each customer. Pittsville Homes continues to be a leader in construction techniques, indoor air quality, and thermal performance all designed to accommodate family lifestyles and lower the customer’s operating costs.

Just as Pittsville Homes are built to "stand the test of time," Wood County National Bank provides the products, service and technological solutions to meet our customer’s needs today – and in the future.
